Plaster Paintings

In the last few years I have developed a technique, similar to the construction of a collagraph plate but working with plaster instead. Layers of plaster or paste are applied to a plaster tile, imprinted with textures and sanded back, resulting in a low relief image of miscellaneous marks and patterns. Paints and inks are then rubbed on to the surface to create intensely coloured abstract images with a smooth and tactile finish.
